Crocheted Baby Dress (Savannah Belle)

Savannah Belle Baby Dress

Here is one of my recent finished projects I have been working on. It's a Savanna Belle dress with a matching headband. I have made a matching shrug with the dress. I made it with my niece in mind. I simply loved it! I'll add some pictures here later on of how it looks like on my beautiful niece. It's made of Vardhaman Baby Soft yarn. I really like this pattern! (Original pattern from Crochet Garden) I am looking forward to making a few more!

This is one of the beautiful baby dress sets I have made till now. The patterns for the headband and the dress are bought from Crochet Garden, but the shrug is entirely my pattern. I really like the layers of the dress. The little butterfly appliqués really add to the overall look. This is made with really soft yarn, silk ribbon and satin belt.

I wanted a white button to go with the shrug and the dress. But I didn't have one, so I made a crochet cover with white thread for the pink button which was available with me. I think the button is looking very nice on the shrug.

I will be accepting orders for this dress and they will be made to order. We can discuss color options and other details at that time. You can e-mail requests to welcomewinter.an@gmail.com.

Peach Crochet Baby Dress

Baby dress

Well I have been working on some projects and wanted to share them with everyone. This is one of them…

While browsing the internet I saw a dress and really liked it. I didn’t have the pattern but still I decided to make it. And this is the outcome…

This peach dress didn't work up fast, I took too long to make it as I unraveled it many times. It is supposed to fit three to six months old baby. The yarn I’ve used for this dress is Baby Soft knitting yarn.

In my last visit to the market I bought this polka dotted ribbon which matched the color of the dress. So, I have added this ribbon as belt and also as florets on the dress to give it a delicate and sophisticated appearance.

This whimsical dress is teamed with a matching hand-crocheted headband which is decorated with crocheted and polka dotted ribbon to complete the elegant look.

Please let me know what you think of the dress.

Relaxed...after being on my toes and having my hands full

Last week was very hectic as I had few orders to be finished. Now I am feeling relaxed because I’ve dispatched the orders, but still have some more projects in hand. Even though it was hectic I never felt tired as I love to crochet…rather, the perfect end to a busy and tiring day for me would be sitting in front of the system with a crochet hook and yarn.

Actually, my neighbour got me some orders from her office stuff. They wanted the Preemie Set for a newborn baby and a two year old girl; and the Sunshine Set for newborn baby. I really enjoyed making them. In between I had to go to market some two or three times as I ran short of yarn. The Sunshine Set hardly took any time but the Preemie Set for two year old consumed lot of time as I unraveled the items many times. But the end product came out really good (according to my expectation).

The first two sets displayed below are for the newborn babies and the third one for the two years old baby girl.

Gift - Diaper Cover

Gift - Matching Cap
Gift - Flower Hairclip
With all the three orders I gave some complimentary gifts.....hope they like it....

I wanted to pack the gifts very creatively but I couldn't spend much time on packaging. Here's how I packed.......
All the items displayed in my blog and Facebook page are handmade by me………

Just Born

This page is to celebrate the wonderful phenomenon called birth. Welcoming babies is the theme of this collection.

Welcome to the World

Welcome to the world, my baby…
We are here to welcome you

As your journey has just begun.
There are lots of people that love you here,
And there are more for you to meet!
It is a giant world out there,
But you will find your place,
And I hope that you will live your life,
With love and kindness and grace.
But all that is for another day,
So you just sleep all curled,
For now, just know that you are safe,
And welcome to the world.
by Andra Mccoy

At the time of my daughter’s birth I was an amateur knitter and didn’t know how to crochet. And we believe that before the arrival of the baby one should not make/buy anything for them. So, I could not do any thing for my baby (Tia). Now I regret so much. This is one of the reasons why I’ve come up with this theme. The baby goodies which are displayed below are some of the things which I’d have loved to make for my daughter.

These are the goodies I’ve made to make a baby’s journey ever more special…

Crocheted Sweater Set with Satin Touch...

I love this set. Lot of effort is put to make this...I made the set in purple colour and embellished it with satin belt (for sweater, hat and shoe). I just love this colour and especially on little girls.

It consists of a sacque, hat and booties. It is made for a six months baby.

It is an easy pattern with lots of vintage style. The instructions (for the pattern) will be available in Ravelry very soon.

Visit to Commercial Street...

My visit to Commercial Street proved very fruitful for me. Though Munu ba (my sister) and I were in a hurry but still I managed to grab few things....yarns, ribbons, buttons, circular knitting needles , and crochet hooks. There were plenty of things in the shop which caught my eyes but as we didn't have much time in hand (because I left my baby at home), so could purchase only these many things. But I'm planning to visit the market very soon and buy lots and lots of yarn.......I love yarns. I'd like to show you some of them...

Yarn

I've decided what to do with the yarns that I bought ... I've already started the next project, so I'll have a picture in a few days...

With this colour (light brown) I'm making a newsboy cap and a booties for my cousin's son.

I've a beautiful knitted frock pattern in mind, so this one's for that....... God! I have so many patterns lined up.......

With these two colours I will make a tail hat and matching booties for newborn baby. Many of my friends are going to have babies soon...don't know whose the lucky one :-).

Circular Knitting Needles

I had been looking for circular needles for so long and finally, I got these...

Crochet Hooks

Some of the crochet hooks I purchased...

 Ribbons

It was really difficult to choose the colours because all the colours were good. As I cannot buy all of them, so bought these many...polka dotted one's my favourite though.

Buttons

I looked for fancy buttons every where in Bangalore but in vain. I am so very frustrated because some of the patterns really demand fancy buttons....got only few but nothing fancy about them. You can see by yourself...

Though I'm not contented with my shopping but m happy...

Seashell and Posies Dress

This is the baby dress about which I've mentioned in one of my previous blogs. I have finished it long time back but was preoccupied with some other work, so didn't get time to sit and write about it.

This dress is adapted from a pattern that I got from Crochet Me called Seashell and Posies Dress. It is a great pattern to follow as it has diagrams as well as the printed instructions.

The modified Seashell and Posies dress by me is a classic and beautiful crochet baby dress. In the original pattern the dress is worked in the round from hem to top, it calls for seaming just at the shoulders. But I’ve made the skirt separately from waist to hem. Then picked up from waist and continued as the pattern. Flowers in a contrasting color highlight the empire waist. I've added a trim at the bottom edge and also altered it a little bit in terms of the size and pattern. It's sized for 0 to 3 months baby. The original pattern includes instructions for the following sizes - 9 to 18 months, 18 to 24 months, and 2 to 3 years.

As always I've paired the dress with a beautiful headband.

Instead of six petals, I've made five petals to go with the flower pattern of the dress.
