Crochet Spring/Summer or Beach Dress

Hi Everyone,

What a lovely morning to start the day with. It's sunny outside with temperature hitting 80's late afternoon....Yay! so happy. A day like this after the harsh winter is a blessing. Hope all of you are great and in the best of your health.

Today I'm going to share with you a special project that I was working on for our much awaited Orlando trip about which I've mentioned in my previous post. I wanted to make something for myself for summer and found this to be just appropriate...

When I came across this pattern I knew this is the one I was looking for and decided to make one for myself and I had the perfect yarn for this project which I purchased sometime back but wasn't sure what to make. Here I am in the dress...

I made some modification in the pattern to fit my measurement, like I used treble instead of DC for the body. You may want to add a few extra rows for the body or you can replace DC by Treble.

I used Bali cotton yarn (8 ply sports) which is 100% cotton.  The yarn lends itself to the texture of the crochet pattern making it drape beautifully. It is a very good yarn with a silky touch to it though not very light as I was told.

I don't remember the exact link for the pattern but you can visit their website (www.bianzhirensheng.com) and look for other patterns.

The dress drapes beautifully and flatters my body making me look slimmer than I am ;-). I wore a black slip inside which makes the color of my dress pop out and teamed it with golden earnings and golden slippers to complete the look. You can also wear it on top of a bikini, making it a bikini cover-up.

Hope you enjoy making the dress as I did....until next time

Take care,
Aman

Blooming Flower Crochet Sundress

Hello everyone!

Wish you all a very good morning. It's is a beautiful day :-)

Blooming Flower Crochet Sundress completed right in time

Last month, I shared with you my WIP: a Crochet Sundress. I finally finished it right in time (it's still cold though, Tia, my princess, will have to wait for some more time). I took a little longer to finish the dress as I don't have a sewing machine and I had to hand sew it.

Crochet and Fabric Sundress

As in my previous post, I promised that I'll share the pattern, so, here it is:

Measurements:
  • Chest: 13"
  • Waist: 13"
  • Full length: 26"
  • Skirt: 13" (+ 1" for the frill)

Front Bodice

Front Measurements

Back

Neck & arm band

Button Band
I've discussed about the design and stitch in my previous post. You can refer to that for the sizing, yarn I used, hook, etc. It should fit a 5-6 years old girl. I made it for my daughter who is 5 years old. This is all about the crocheted part. Regarding the fabric part, I can give you an idea...

For the skirt, I used two layers: fabric & net (L-14" x B-45"). Sew the fabric and the net and attach to the crocheted bodice.

There may be a few mistakes, please let me know if you come across. I'll try to rectify and get back to you with the corrections. I've never written any pattern ... this is all I've noted down while creating the dress. Most of my friends keep asking me for patterns and I could never give them any...this one's for all of you.

I have not written the pattern for the flowers and the beads yet.....will post the pattern as soon as I finish writing it.
Hope you all like it....keep coming back and leave me a message. I'll be posting a lot of patterns.

Be happy and keep crocheting,
Aman
